【摘要】:Thedryingtimesofacoatingaresignificantindeterminingwhenafreshlypaintedroom,floororstairmaybeputbackinuseoracoatedarticlehandledorpackaged.Slowdryingmayresultindirtpick-upor,onanexteriorsurface,moisturemaycauseanonuniformappearance.Thesetestmethodsareusedtodeterminethevariousstagesofdryingorcuringinthedry-filmformationoforganiccoatingsusingmechanicaldevicesforthepurposeofcomparingtypesofcoatingsoringredientchanges,orboth.Toevaluatethestagesofdryinginaquantitativemanner,useofinstrumentationunderenvironmentalcontrolledconditionsisstronglyrecommended.Thesedevicesalsoofferamethodofdeterminingdryingcharacteristicsofcoatingsthatcannotbeascertainedwithinthestandard8-hworkday.Whenevaluatingdryingcharacteristicsofbakingsystems,thecirculardryingtimedevicesofferamethodtodeterminequantitativelydryingtimesofcoatingsatroomtemperatureandelevatedconditions.Maximumtemperatureswouldbelimitedbyconsiderationssuchastheaffectoftemperatureonthemotorlubricationorstructuralcomponentsofthedevice.Thestraightlinedryingtimedevicesofferamethodtodeterminequantitativelydryingtimesofcoatingstestedsimultaneouslyusingonerecorder.Thismethodisusefulincomparingthebehaviorofcoatingsduringdryingofthesamegenerictype.DeterminationofactualdryingtimesshouldbeconductedfollowingproceduresoutlinedinTestMethodD1640orISO1517.1.1Thesetestmethodsdescribethedeterminationofseveralstagesandtherateofdry-filmformationoforganiccoatingsusingstraightlineandcircularmechanicaldrying-timerecordingdevices.Theuseofmechanicalrecordersisvaluableincomparingthedryingbehaviorofcoatingsofthesamegenerictype,allowingthatonecoatingmayformagelorresisttearingatafasterratethananother.1.2Dryingtimemeasuredusingthemechanicalrecordersmaydifferfromthosefoundusingconventionalmethods,suchasTestMethodD1640orISO1517.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
